Lewis Thornton Powell was a Confederate State Army soldier who attempted to assassinate US Secretary of State, William H. Seward and was one of the infamous Lincoln Assassination Conspirators.  He was executed for his part in the killing of Abraham Lincoln.  He was 21 years old.
